Recently, a group from University of Southern California published a statistically and clinically significant correlation between positive effects on lungs development in children and improved air quality.
It is a very important observation as it shows that putting environmental friendly policies into action gives effects. Not only we can stop the ongoing catastrophes but possibly even revert theirs outcomes.
Air pollution strongly affects children health as they are under a high risk of under developing theirs lungs, suffering from asthma and even life-long conditions such as cardiovascular diseases. Rising awareness of poor air quality impact brought to life number of environmental protection programs (referring to region of California, United States). Effort has been made to verify the first consequences of these projects.
In presented study, researchers monitored levels of nitrogen dioxide, ozone and air particles. The dangerous air particles that are usually strongly associated with faulty development of lungs in children, were even tracked in three different size classes: lower than 2.5μm, between 2.5μm up to 10μm, and ones bigger than 10μm. Results showed that bettered lungs function clearly corresponded with decreasing levels of nitrogen dioxide and analysed particles in atmosphere. Such health improvement was recognised for both genders and was also independent of whether children suffered from asthma or not. These data reassures that overall assets of improvement of air quality are beneficial for everyone.
We also believe that everyone should have possibility to breathe clean air and be able to protect themselves from damaging impact of air pollution. Pure Air Zone® aims at improving indoor air quality and therefore is helping to protect human health.
